Project principles · Version 2026-10-26

Clear scope.
Considered commitments.

How the proposed sample-first process treats quotations, changes, shipping and remedies.

01

An enquiry is
a starting point.

Submitting this website form creates a request for project review. It does not place an order, approve a pattern, reserve material, authorise cutting or create a delivery commitment. No payment is collected on this website.

Any paid sample or order requires a separate written proposal that identifies the responsible parties and the accepted scope. The agreed project-specific terms govern that work.

02

What a written
quotation should contain.

  • Exact materials, construction, quantity and number of patterns.
  • Technical review, pattern development, sample making and any sample revisions.
  • Sample inclusion in final quantity and any stated later credit.
  • Stage-specific timing and the information or approval that starts each stage.
  • Sample and main shipment costs, destination, delivery terms and import responsibilities.
  • Payment stages, committed costs, changes, cancellation and agreed remedies.

Pricing is project-specific. No demonstration cost model, placeholder starting price or universal trade discount is a sales offer.

03

Samples, approvals
and changes.

A material swatch confirms appearance; a complete fit sample tests the proposed cover on its actual insert. The intended first-project process tests every pattern and material combination before the remainder is cut.

The approval record should identify the drawing revision, material and batch, sample ID, corresponding insert group, outcome and approving person. Changes to fabric, inserts, dimensions or construction require review and may affect cost and timing.

Before paid work begins, the proposal must explain the cost of stopping after the sample, non-recoverable materials, completed work and cancellation points. Submitting an enquiry itself carries no sample or cancellation charge.

04

Shipping and
import arrangements.

A sample-first project may require a sample shipment and a separate remaining-production shipment. Additional samples or changes can require additional freight. These costs must be stated or agreed before the relevant work.

The quote must name who handles import clearance, who is the importer and who pays applicable duties and taxes. A shipping charge is not evidence that import costs are included. No universal exemption, tax rate or delivered-duty-paid promise is made here.

On receipt, retain packaging and document visible damage promptly for the agreed shipping or carrier process. The written arrangement must identify how transit claims and remedies are handled.

05

A remedy based
on the cause.

What happenedReview principle

Wrong material, wrong pattern or manufacturing deviation

The delivery side must provide the agreed remedy for deviation from the approved specification, including agreed reasonable replacement shipping.

Our engineering judgment was incorrect

Our own technical error is reviewed as our responsibility. Sample approval does not remove it.

Incorrect site measurements or changed inserts

Review the supplied facts and the change; agree correction, cost and timing before more work.

Colour, dimensions or details changed after approval

Agree a revised scope and price. Reconfirm affected approvals and timing.

Transport damage

Retain arrival and packaging evidence and follow the agreed shipment terms and claim process.

Do not continue remaining production while a material or fit issue remains unresolved. Contact support@cushiongrove.com with the project reference and relevant evidence.
